DAAD award for SIMT Graduate

In December 2005, Ralph Heinze received an Award by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as the best foreign student at SIMT. This award honors his outstanding academic achievements.

Ralph Heinze is a 29 year old, high performance athlete from Mexico. He holds a Bachelor in Electromechanical Engineering from the Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City. Prior to joining SIMT he was working at a metal-mechanical manufacturing company as Technical Sub Director for three years. Before that he was employed at a German Pharma Company in Mexico. Ralph Heinze gives an insight in his SIMT experience:

"When I decided to start the application process for an MBA program I already had some years in the professional field, carrying out relevant engineering activities within promising companies. At that point in time I was accumulating interesting job experience and applying it for making the areas under my responsibility work more efficient every day. Nevertheless, and as an engineer, I intuitively detected several key issues outside of the scope of my bachelor studies and job descriptions that were fundamental for the well-functioning of business as a whole. I wanted to go deeper into business concepts, I really felt that I had more to offer and I wanted to be ready for that. The MBA represented a great option to achieve it.

Besides my Mexican-German background, which obviously influenced my interest, Germany offered something different in terms of MBA programs. They were relatively new, but this could also be translated in "fresher" and updated learning techniques, teaching methods and study contents. In the particular case of the SIMT, the solid foundation in one of the most promising economic regions in Europe, together with the support of leading global players and renowned German Universities, made it the best option for me.

To make contact and to interact with students and lecturers from different backgrounds constitutes an essential part of the MBA program in my opinion. It really helped me to open cultural boundaries and to improve my global understanding of business, together with a true development of my teamwork skills."
