Knowledge. Education. Future.

Germany's path in the coming years hinges on its technological capabilities. Working in partnership with companies to foster transfer, Steinbeis provides support in central areas: research and development, consulting and its bedrock - education. Founded in 1998, Steinbeis University Berlin offers a family of transfer-oriented educational programs designed to answer the needs of today's knowledge-based society.

Corporations looking to build on their successes realize that achieving this goal in an increasingly global and competitive environment comes down to one factor: marketdriven innovation which is actually put into practice. Being innovative requires you to marry experience with the latest insight and know-how and show the courage to break new ground, to take an unconventional approach. At Steinbeis University Berlin, we support employees of all ages through training and development to keep them innovative, with transfer as the linchpin to well-grounded, contemporary know-how in both theory and practice.

Know-how is a raw material. Without it, long-term success falls by the wayside as our economy rapidly refashions itself into one based on knowledge. Life-long learning has evolved into a tool with the power to differentiate companies and employees by prompting innovation and honing competitive edges.

For knowledge to transfer successfully, the right structures to enrich instruction and learning must be put in place - often in unconventional ways. Life-long learning as well as career-integrated learning are common terms at the Steinbeis University Berlin - in fact they are at the very heart of what we offer. Our programs carefully balance the objectives and organizational pressures of companies and the compatibility of work and education.

Our Project Competence degree programs, for instance, rise to the challenges posed by a knowledge-based society. As employed professionals, students manage company projects in-house, benefiting from the support of our university's practice oriented professors and faculty. Transferring skills and proficiency in this way allows fresh expertise to emerge, while triggering new ideas and insight which circulates throughout the company. The outcome: breakthrough solutions, products and services.
